Pickle Consulting is the product of a pandemic and an opportunity. Established in 2020 with the rise of eCommerce, and digital payments - project opportunities gave way to a small business start up for Brian and Cor Loya, both pioneers in the Digital landscape having come from diverse backgrounds and industry - eCommerce & Payments + Gaming and Technical Project Management.
Cor Loya, an Industrial design graduate turned, eCommerce pioneer having been in the industry as early as Y2000 (yes, Yehey & Edsamail days) with an online gifting shop,
www.filgifts.com where she worked initially acquiring merchants & then to handle marketing & partnerships (and working on orders during peak season!). She would later on work with several other companies to hone her marketing skills - while taking up Graduate Studies to major in Marketing. Gaining Brand & Merchandise Marketing Skills through retail, publishing and innovation companies, she went back to eCommerce in 2012 to work for Multiply.com (largest and pioneer Social Media from USA, acquired by Naspers Africa and turned Marketplace) and Living Social (Ensogo), a popular deal site offering discounted retail and service deals for a limited time duration; and then to Voyager Innovations, a subsidiary of PLDT & – SMART Communications (one of the largest invested Philippine tech company by China Venture Capitalists, KKR, TenCent and IFC) to lead go-to-market for the shopfront enabler, TackThis! and marketplace, Takatack in the PH while working and in coordination with local teams in Singapore. She also briefly worked under the Usage and Enterprise teams for PayMaya, leading e-wallet technology with PayMaya Philippines before taking a creativity break in 2019, where during this rest period, opportunities came in to work with eCommerce & Digital Marketing Consultancy projects with a eCommerce sellers, a payments and remittance company and a retail conglomerate in the HVAC industry.
She is currently working for one of the largest eCommerce aggregators in SEA, handling Regional Partnerships.
View me on LinkedInBrian Loya, a Computer Science graduate who is a gamer by heart. He started his professional career in Game Development as a Game Designer in 2005, with a start up educational group from his University called TechFactors. Growing from creating Flash-based Games as interactive and educational exercises for textbooks, he moved further into Game Development through Indigo Entertainment and Gameloft, where he successfully launched, and was part of the Interactive games such as Habitat Heroes Online Community Site, and other Facebook games. After years of development experience, he progressed into Project Management for different IT projects, from Infrastructure set-up, Game Development, Software Development, and BAU support. He had been working previously with known tech companies such as HP (Hewlett Packard Enterprise now DXC Technologies, and handled projects from Telecommunications field, Airline Industries, and Car Manufacturing Industries.
He has experience in handling small-scale projects with less than 10 FTEs, and even up to large-scale projects involving more than 40 FTEs (with team located from different areas and time zones). He is also adept and well-versed in different types of PM Methodologies, from traditional Waterfall-type project, Agile Projects, and SCRUM based projects, in order to ensure delivery of quality results each and every time.
He is currently working as Program Manager for a US-based education & payment tech company
